Post-Op Wart Surgery Instructions

  1. Keep the dressing dry and intact until tomorrow unless the dressing is too tight or bleeds through. You will know the dressing is too tight if there is severe pain or if the pain is not relieved with mild analgesics, (aspirin like products or Tylenol). If the dressing bleeds through, replace the dressing with a clean one.

  2. You may remove the dressing in the morning and bathe or shower. Scrub the wound with mild soap and water or hydrogen peroxide daily. Apply the antibiotic cream or ointment (e.g. Amerigel or Neosporin) that the doctor prescribed, then a bandaid or adhesive dressing. You may allow the wound to air dry for a short while.

  3. Drainage and mild tenderness is normal. If you are experiencing problems call the office at: 480-423-8400.
